About Florida Weather

Warm, sunny weather is a big draw for many Florida visitors.  The range varies from tropical temperatures and climate conditions in the Keys and southernmost areas, to sub-tropical weather in the central region, to more temperate heat levels along the northern tier and Panhandle.

Most of the yearly rainfall occurs from early June through late September, generally coinciding with the tropical storm and hurricane season (which extends through the end of November).  The average yearly rainfall is 55 inches.  Summer can mean daily showers as well as extreme heat and humidity.  Winters are more mild and dry.

Summer temperatures usually average 81 degrees (F) statewide; average winter temperatures range from a low of 53 degrees (F) in the north to 68 degrees (F) in the south.
